March 29 Shooting Incident

On Sunday, March 29th, HCSO Deputies responded to a shooting incident that had occurred at 13270 Savannah Hwy in Estill. The complainant reported to law enforcement that several people were gathered outside and that six children were inside the residence. The complainant advised that a vehicle had passed by and someone shot towards the residence. Law enforcement discovered bullet holes on the outside of the residence along with one bullet hole in a nearby vehicle.

MARCH 23, 2020


On March 19, HCSO Officers were dispatched to Elliott Saw Mill located at 4426 Steep Bottom Rd. in Estill for a shooting incident. When officers arrived, the 24 year old male victim was being treated by EMS and the suspect had fled. A search for the suspect ensued.

Kelvin Allen Brooks, 26 years old, from Estill, turned himself into law enforcement earlier this morning. Brooks is charged with Attempted Murder and Weapons Possession during a Violent Crime.




On Wednesday, March 4, 2020, at approximately 1:15 am, HCSO Deputies responded to 171 Belle Lane in Varnville for a shooting incident. When deputies arrived, the victim, a 20 year old female, reported that the subject, along with another occupant had arrived at the location earlier. The victim informed law enforcement of an ongoing situation between the parties. The victim reported that as she began to leave the residence in her vehicle, the subject did produce a weapon and shot at her multiple times, hitting her vehicle.

The subject, Holly Kathleen Trogdon, 22 years old of Varnville, was arrested and charged with Attempted Murder and Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime. Trogdon was also served an outstanding warrant for Assault and Battery 3rd Degree charges. In addition, Trogdon was served outstanding warrants for Assault and Battery 3rd Degree and Shoplifting charges by another agency.
